The author of The Outsiders is S.E Hinton. S.E Hinton's name stands for Susan Eloise Hinton. She was born on July 22, 1948 in Tulsa, OK. She has one kid and she is married to David Inhofe. The schools that she had went to are University of Tulsa and Will Rogers High School. She was 17 years old whenever she had written and published her very first book The Outsiders. This book was published in 1967 while she was attending Will Rogers High School.
The thing that influenced her to start writing and publishing books was whenever she was reading the books for young adults, she didn't like the literature that was being written in them, so she decided to start to write books herself. She has written 10 books. These books are The Outsiders, Rumble Fish, That was Then This is Now, Tex, Taming the Star Runner, The Puppy Sister, Hawkes Harbor, Big David Little David, Some of Tim's Stories and The Boy in The Burning House.
She wrote The Outsiders because she she didn't like the literature in all of the other young adult books that she had read, so she tried to write books herself and she turned out very successful and now she has continued to write books and she has written very many books that many, many people read.
