The author for The Outsiders is S.E. Hinton. She was born on July 22, 1948 in Tulsa. She was friends with a lot of guys and played sports with boys like football. She got interviewed and she said that she never meant for the book to be published it just kind of happened. She has made 9 books with a movie to 4 of them have been made. She one one child named Nick Inhofe and for education she went to the University of Tulsa and Will Rogers high school. S.E. Hinton was 16 when she started writing the outsiders, which is impressive at that young age to write such an amazing book. She got the idea for the story when one of her friends was walking home from school and these kids jumped him because they didn't like him being a greaser. She said she got very angry and went home and wrote about it. Ponyboy's gang was inspired by a real-life gang.
The books with a movie made to them are, The outsiders(1967), Tex(1979), Rumble Fish(1975), and That was then....This is now(1971). The ones without the movie are,Taming the Star Runner(1988), The Puppy Sister (1995), Hawkes Harbor(2004), Big David, Little David(1995), Some of Tim's Stories(2007), The Boy in the Burning House. There was more books but they were just collections of ll of those books.
I like how you said that she was 16 years old whenever she started to write her first book. I liked how you mentioned some of the books that she has written and also the dates.I lied how you mentioned that she had a child.
ReplyDeleteI like how you put a lot of the this she did when she was young. I also like how you put when she started her first book the outsiders and how she got the idea. I didn't know that Ponyboys gang was inspired by a real life gang.
