The author that wrote The Outsiders is S.E. Hinton. She has written 4 books, not counting The Outsiders, which are Rumble Fish, That was then this is now, Tex, The Puppy Sister, Hawkes Harbor, Some of Tim's stories, and Boy in the Burning House.
I think That SE Hinton wrote the outsiders because she lived in the same time period and wanted to write a good first novel.
I like how you named the books that she has wrote. Also how you said she lived in the time of when she wrote her first novel.
