If i was talking to a main character I would talk to Ponyboy. I would tell him how stupid and brave he is. He is dumb most of the time. He can be brave though. Like when it comes to his gang or other people.
The ways ponyboy is "stupid" is because he gets into a lot of trouble. He always tries to get into fights. He smokes a lot and hes only 14. He ran away from his brothers where he wouldn't be supplied with food or shelter.
The way he is brave is that he sticks up for his gang. He also went into that church that was on fire because there were still kids in there. He went in even though Dally was yelling at him to not go in. He did end up saving those kids though.
I like how you pointed out that he is stupid and makes dumb mistakes. He does need to calm down with smoking at age 14 but that's how he was raised.
