Cherry Valance

    If Cherry was a part of a high-school clique then I think she'd be popular. I think she would turn in her work on time because she seems like she'd be a good student. Cherry is in high-school. She interacts good with the Socs, but doesn't interact good with the Greasers because of the Socs, and if they found out she was talking to them they'd beat up the Greasers she was hanging out with. This tells us that she cares about if they get beat up or not.

My Character

Ponyboy would be popular and he would be more of a nerd. He would turn all of his work on time, because Dally will make him. He would interact with others by trying to act cool, but his friends, will prove that he isn't. You can tell he try's to fit in with his friends and he wants to read and do work.

They would be nerdy cause they aren't too good at sports and ponyboy doesn't have a lot of friends plus he is really smart.

Ponyboy doesn't interact with people at school he is the quiet 1 and he is more of a geek

• Would they be popular? Sporty? Nerdy?

Pony-Boy would be a nerdy Greaser because he is part of the Greasers group. But he is actually really smart.

• Would they turn in all of their work on time?

He would turn it in all of the time but his friends and "family" wouldn't. 

• If your character IS a high school aged student, describe how they interact at school with others. What does this tell us about them as a person?

He does really good in school and he always turn in all of his work on time. I think that this shows that he is a great smart and talented guy.

how i would rate a character in the book

I think that Ponyboy is more strong than weak, but not that strong. I think that because he had to deal with one friend dieing then he had another friend freak out and decide to basically kill himself. Also on top of that there was a rumble and he fought in it. Last he got a concussion in the rumble.

My group kind of all had the same idea, that Ponyboy was strong. The other people in my group didn't have any differences in this discussion. 

I think he will because everything that happened was in his past and he can move on. Also he has other people in his life that will take care of him, if he does anything stupid.

Johnny

    I think Johnny isn't weak but also isn't strong. I think he's somewhere in the middle. I think he's in the middle because he gets scared of the Socs,(weak), but he also isn't scared to stand up for his friends,(strong).
    The ratings in my lit circle did not compare. Alli chose Ponyboy and said he was strong until one of the Socs got killed then he ran away and became a weak character. I think that is also true but I think that Ponyboy just gets caught up in his feelings sometimes but overall he is a strong character.
    When I move on farther in the book I think Johnny will become a stronger character and learn how to stand up to the Socs and learn how to stand up for himself. I think Johnny will learn how to fight back and learn how to stand up to more people, not just the Socs but also his father.

I would say that Ponyboy was a strong character until one of the socs got killed, and then he just ran away and kind of became a weak character. One of the people in my group is doing Johnny and also said he was in the middle of weak and strong. I agree that Johnny is in the middle because he can get scared, but at the same time he will also stand up and protect his friends witch is practicality his family.
