The author is S.E. Hinton/ Susan Eloise Hinton. She wrote the outsiders in high school because she had friends that were socs and greasers, she started on the book when she was only 15 years old. And she did not finish until she was 17 years old. She was not a member of a gang when she wrote this book, The Outsiders.
It took her a year and a half to write the book and get it published.
She thought that it would get more attention if people thought that a boy had written it so she used S. E. on her books. She has also written Tex , That Was Then, This Is Now, Rumble fish , Yesterday, and 4 other young adult books. She wrote most of the books when she was young From around 15 to 27 years old.
I liked how you mentioned some of the other books that she has written. I liked how mentioned her age whenever she wrote The Outsiders. I liked how you said the reason for why she wrote The Outsiders. I liked how you mentioned that she was not in a gang, but the people around her and her friends were and that they always got in fights and things Good Job.
