What I Say

I would say that he should turn himself and Johnny in because it was in self defense. Ponyboy and Johnny would not get in trouble because they were going to kill Ponyboy. I think that it is in self deference because you can't get in trouble for defending your self and that is what they did.

If you or your friend are being beat up you aren't going to just stand there. You are going to fight back because you could be badly hurt if you don't fight back. Johnny got scared because those kids are the same kids that beat him up bad and they were trying to kill Ponyboy by drowning him.

Johnny pulled out his switchblade and stabbed Bob in the side even though he would hurt anybody on purpose. Johnny and Ponyboy want to turn themselves in but they also don't want to get into trouble.

  1. I think they shouldn't because the cops probably wouldn't care and they would be sent to the electric chair. Also later in the book, they kind of don't have to.
