Our author is a girl named S. E. Hinton and she was a author in her school years at Will Rogers High school, in Tulsa Oklahoma. She told this book from a point of view of a 14 year old boy named pony boy Curtis. She is still one of the best known child writer. I am very shy and very uncomfortable to talking to people. She said I read constantly and take classes for no credit, I enjoy horse back riding and walk my dog. A writers life gets boring when your in a room all day with a piece of paper and a pen or pencil just writing.
What have they written in the past
She has wrote since her first book in 1967 to 2007 she starts with The Outsiders then Rumble Fish then This was then, This is Now and then Tex then Taming The Star Runner then The Puppy Sister then Hawks Harbor then Big David, Little David, then Some Of Tim's Stories then The Boy In the Burning House.
Why do you think they choose to write this book
She wrote this book because there was a group kids named the Greasers and then another group of people named Socs and she started writing about there crazy adventures through her child hood and she wasn't satisfied with what she was learning so she made her own book as a teenager.
She did write the book about her childhood. I think it was a good idea that she did. The best books are always good when it is about their childhood :)
